State of Texas Financial Aid Graduation Requirement

Per Texas Education Code (TEC) §28.0256, all seniors must complete one of the following to graduate: 

  • Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aud (FAFSA)(for U.S. citizens) or a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TAFSA)(for non-U.S. citizens).

OR

  • Submit a signed opt-out form.

 

The deadline to meet this requirement is April 30, 2025, to participate in graduation ceremonies.
