Reminder: Financial Aid Graduation Requirement Opportunity – Saturday, November 8

This Saturday, November 8, you have an opportunity to complete your financial aid application with the support of advisors at Dr. Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School (CTHS). 

Location: Dr. Kirk Lewis Career and Technical High School
 Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Come and go)

In addition to financial aid assistance, you can:

  • Receive an updated Meningitis vaccination (see flyer for registration details)

  • Meet with a San Jacinto College advisor for guidance and support

If you are not able to make the Saturday, November 8th event, you can email Mrs. Imelda Umansor to set up an appointment for assistance on completing the financial aid application a iumansor@pasadenaisd.org  

Hello Class of 2026 and Parents,
Last week, I shared a ParentSquare message about the State of Texas Financial Aid Graduation Requirement. This follow-up provides key resources to help you:
  • Determine which financial aid application to complete
  • Understand what documents are needed
  • Access the opt-out form (for students not planning to attend college, trade school, or any post-secondary education)
Quick Rule of Thumb:
If a student plans to attend any college, trade school, or take any classes after high school, they must complete a financial aid application.
If a student is entering the workforce or military directly after graduation, they may submit the opt-out form instead.

To meet the graduation requirement, students must submit proof of either:
  • A completed financial aid application (screenshot accepted), or
  • A signed opt-out form (screenshot accepted)
